Since offering him back in March, Notre Dame’s goal was to get Grayson McKeogh‍ out for an official visit.

The Irish quickly formed relationships with the 2026 Pennsylvania offensive lineman and hosted him for an unofficial visit back in April. That trip just about sealed up Notre Dame’s spot on McKeogh’s official visit calendar.

That official will occur this week and the Irish will look to move to the front of the list for McKeogh, who has already taken an official to Penn State and who is scheduled to take one to Texas next week.

“I'm pumped up,” the La Salle College High School star told Irish Sports Daily this week. “I'm definitely just looking forward to spending time with the players and getting to meet them and spend more time with them, kind of see what they're all about.”

McKeogh’s finalists have essentially checked some of the major boxes already.

“This entire process, I've really been paying attention to a lot of the football and the academic sides of it,” he said. “Now, I really just want to see who I'm going to spend time with for the next three or four years. I think that's definitely something I want to take account of.”

The communication with the Irish has been strong leading up to the trip.

“They've definitely reached out multiple times and expressed their excitement for me coming up and have been asking what I want to see and how they can make my visit the best it could be,” he says.

“It definitely gives me reassurance that they are a team that has shown consistent interest in me and somewhere that I feel like I'm going to be prioritized. They've just been able to stay consistent with that and like I said, it's a good feeling.”

McKeogh will be taking the visit along with his high school teammate and top Irish safety target, Joey O’Brien.

“I think it's going to be really fun to enjoy the experience with him,” McKeogh said. “I think it will just be fun going up with him and getting to experience some of the same things and being able to express my side of it and hear his at the same time; what they're saying to him and what they're saying to me and I guess the parallels between it.”

McKeogh enjoyed his official to Penn State.

“It was good,” he said. “I had a good time.

“The biggest thing was probably just spending time with the players. One thing I wasn't really paying attention to was just the relationship between all the guys. No matter how old they were, they had freshmen hanging out with seniors and sophomores hanging out with juniors and just the connected bond they all had was something I was looking for and I got to see.”

Texas offensive line coach Kyle Flood helped the Longhorns score the final official visit slot.

“He kind of introduced me to a lot of what they're about and a lot of stuff that I hadn't known beforehand,” McKeogh said of Flood.

“I looked a little more into it and they've got a lot of what I'm looking for and I think it's definitely something I can look more into and see if they fit what I'm looking for.”

McKeogh will announce his college decision on July 1st.
