2026 CB Khary Adams Breaks Down Notre Dame Official
After a few unofficial visits over the past year, Khary Adams took his official visit to Notre Dame this past weekend, the 2026 Maryland cornerback’s final trip to South Bend before he makes his final decision.
“It was good,” Adams told Irish Sports Daily on Sunday afternoon. “It was good.
“I really saw everything. I hung up with the players and I got to learn more about the school, really just hanging out with the players.”
Getting around the current players and recruits was a big part of the trip for Adams.
“It was good learning their experiences, how they like the school and all that,” he said.
The Loyola Blakefield star sees similarities between his current school and Notre Dame.
“Obviously, my school's Catholic,” he said. “They just really have the same values.”
Those are values the 6-foot-2, 180-pounder appreciates.
The messages from defensive backs coach Mike Mickens and head coach Marcus Freeman mirrored what they’ve been telling Adams for months.
“Really that I'm important to the class and that I'm a priority,” said Adams, who added that he does he feel valued by the Irish.
He has a strong relationship with Mickens.
“He's a great coach,” said Adams. “He's about development. We have a great relationship.”
He also remains impressed with Freeman.
“I think he's a great person,” said Adams. “He handles his business.”
Adams was hosted by sophomore cornerback Leonard Moore.
“He was smooth, really just taking me through it,” Adams said of Moore.
Adams always spent time with fellow defensive back target Joey O’Brien, who was also on an official visit. Adams said “it would be cool” to end up at the same school as O’Brien.
In addition to Notre Dame, both are considering Oregon and Penn State.
Adams will take his final official visit of the process to Oregon next week.
He may make his announcement on June 28th, but isn’t totally set on that date yet.
He also isn’t ready to name any leaders within his final group, which also includes Michigan and South Carolina.
But it’s clear Notre Dame maintains his attention.
“I like the school. I like the values of good football and development.”
