2027 QB Keegan Croucher Pleased With Notre Dame Camp Performance
Keegan Croucher returned to Notre Dame on Monday for the second time in as many months and the 2027 Connecticut quarterback could be back again depending on how things play out over the next week or so.
Croucher, who visited South Bend in April, was back again this week to throw in front of quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli, offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock and head coach Marcus Freeman.
“It went really well,” the Cheshire Academy star told Irish Sports Daily. “I threw really well at camp, spending time with Coach Guidugli and Coach Denbrock was really cool. I did well. The whole day was really good.”
The feedback Croucher got was positive.
“Coach Denbrock thought I was very impressive,” the 6-foot-4, 200-pounder said. “That was my first time throwing in front of him, so that was cool. Coach Guidugli, that was his third or fourth time seeing me throw, so I was just doing my thing for him and Coach Freeman was there watching me throw. He loved what he saw.”
Croucher got an even better feel for the coaching staff, specifically Guidugli, while in South Bend.
“Just how genuinely nice people they are,” he said of what he learned. “They're down to earth. They're just the people you want to be around. Coach Guidugli is a really good guy. I spent a lot of time with him.
“He's just someone you can talk to and obviously that's what you want when you're coming because I'll be around him the most. That's the type of person you want; easy to talk to. Obviously, he's a very good coach. He was coaching me up, which is really cool.”
He already knew a good bit about the Irish.
“Obviously Notre Dame is known for its tradition and the culture,” he said. “I think one thing with Notre Dame that's huge is their culture and I think culture wins championships.
Croucher currently has offers from schools like Michigan, Penn State and Oregon among several others. Meanwhile, the Irish haven’t offered any 2027 quarterbacks to this point, but that should change soon.
“I think in the next week or so you're going to see three or four offers get out there,” Croucher said. “Hopefully I'm one of those guys. I think I have a good case in getting offered by them. I think getting a Notre Dame offer would mean a lot to me too.
“If they do offer me, it'd definitely be in my top schools. I'm not sure yet, but sooner or later I'll start to narrow down some schools and if Notre Dame does, I think they'll be making that list.”
