Ken Niumatalolo was going to be a tough act to follow at Navy despite the program struggling in his final three seasons. In the prior dozen years he had taken Navy to 10 bowl games and they won eight more games in a season nine times. At a program that has to play a different style of football to simply be competitive, that is no easy feat.

They look like they made the right choice by promoting Brian Newberry as Niumatalolo’s replacement.
