Ebenezer Ewetade‍ was excited to get back to Notre Dame for his official visit last month; as much for his parents as himself.

“It was all good,” the 2026 Irish defensive commit said afterward. “Everything was good. My mom and dad were there. It was amazing.

“It was my mom's first time, my dad's second time coming. My dad only experienced practice before, but he came up. It was really nice. The hospitality was amazing. My mom had an amazing time. She loved it.”

Ewetade’s mother was blown away.

“After we got back, she was just going on and on about how she wants to go back and back and back,” the South Garner (N.C.) HIgh School standout said. “It was amazing. Everybody was nice.

“She liked how they included everything. It was all about family. She loved how God-oriented it was.”

For Ewetade, having his parents further bless the decision he made back in the spring helps blend everything together.

“It is all good to me,” he says. “That's my family. Notre Dame's my family. It's my family.”

He enjoyed visiting with defensive line coach Al Washington and head coach Marcus Freeman again in person.

“Meetings were good,” he said. “I met with Coach Washington, we were watching film on how I could fit into the defense.

“Then other coaches, like Coach Freeman, were really just talking to my parents, reassuring them that they're making a good decision by letting me come here.”

Getting a chance to hang out with his future teammates in person was another highlight of the trip.

“That was amazing,” he says. “I feel like we built a great relationship and when we come back, it'll only grow stronger.

“Those are my future teammates. It's amazing to build a good relationship with them.”

Ewetade was in town from June 20th-22nd, the same time as fellow Notre Dame defensive end commit Rodney Dunham as well as current Irish defensive line target Elijah Golden.

Dunham and Ewetade were in Golden’s ear during the visit.

“Of course,” Ewetade laughs. “We're trying to get Elijah to come home.”

Golden will announce his decision on July 26th and has already heard the main pitch from Ewetade.

“Just what Notre Dame can do for him,” Ewetdade says of what he told Golden.

“It is not like every other place. It's amazing. It has so much upside to it.”

Those are easy pitches to make since they’re the reasons Ewetade chose Notre Dame in the first place and why his parents are now so happy he did.
