After Dino Babers somehow managed to survive eight years with only two bowl appearances, Syracuse deserved something better with their next head coach. They upgraded significantly when they hired Fran Brown.

Brown had no previous head coaching experience, but was a respected assistant who spent his previous two seasons at Georgia. He injected energy into Syracuse’s program immediately and they won 10 games last season.
