Kennedy Brown was fired up when the elite 2027 offensive lineman landed an offer from the Irish back on St. Patrick’s Day.
“The offer meant a lot because I know how Notre Dame is O-Line U and just the way that they're consistently a winning team,” the Humble, Texas prospect says.
“That's what means a lot to me, a winning team and I want a school that develops our o-linemen physically and mentally for the next level.”
Brown’s offer sheet also includes Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, LSU, Ohio State, Michigan, Clemson, Georgia, Alabama, Stanford and USC among several others.
College scouts like the total package he brings to the field in terms of frame, flexibility and attitude.
“They say aggression, the way I can bend and that I have size,” he says.
The 6-foot-5, 288-pounder has been in touch with Irish offensive line assistant Rob Delaney who was reminding Brown about the school’s reputation.
“How once again, they're O-Line U and they want the best, so they're going to recruit heavily,” Brown says of what he was told.
Brown lives in Texas now, but he’s originally from Indiana and would certainly welcome the opportunity to return to the Midwest.
“100 percent, I'd go back,” he says. “I'm easy to adapt to any type of environment because I'm not an introvert. I'm an extrovert so I can adapt.”
He’s hoping to get back to Indiana this fall to see Notre Dame.
“I'd be looking forward to making it out to a game,” he says. “I just have to talk to my mom about it. We have a bunch of more Thursday games now than Friday games.”
Brown has several other schools in mind for visits as well.
“I'm going to try to make it out to Notre Dame, Penn State, Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, hopefully Nebraska, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M,” he says.
It’s early, but he has a pretty clear picture of what he wants in a college.
“The environment, the academics,” he says.
“I don't want a best friend as a coach. I want to mentor. I want a coach that if I tell them that I want to be a high-round draft pick, who is going to push me to my full potential and a college that's known for producing o-linemen as well.”
