Sam LeJeune‍ has already visited Notre Dame twice and the 2027 Mississippi defensive lineman says he’ll keep coming back.

The 6-foot-4, 285-pounder visited in April and returned again for camp last month.

“It was great,” LeJeune said of his most recent trip to South Bend. “I thought I was just going to the camp, but then they texted me saying, 'We're going to get you early.' I had the hotel breakfast and ate their team breakfast.

“Most schools don't do this, but when you're walking down the hallway, you can get whatever snacks you want, whatever drinks you want. I had a great camp. I ran a 4.8. I weighed in at 280. I was 6-3. It was just from the nutrition that was so superior at Notre Dame. It was insane.”

LeJeune’s offer sheet currently includes schools like Notre Dame, Florida State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Arkansas and Nebraska among others.

He plans to get back to South Bend, probably multiple times.

“I want to try to make a game and then the offseason, go back on another visit,” he said. “It's great up there.

“The environment of Notre Dame is just so good. The food, the protein pudding, I can't even...the food was so good and the coaches, they treat me right. They know I flew up there and it's like a whole travel day and they're like, 'Alright, you're coming up here to Notre Dame, we're going to give you the treatment, we're going to throw the red carpet.' That's what they do every time. It's not like you go on a visit, drive four or five hours and just waste your day and don't even talk to any coaches. You talk to everybody. You talk to the staff, everybody. It's a great thing.”

He’s also planning fall stops at Florida State, LSU and Tennessee. Following his unofficial visits, LeJeune will take a few official visits before deciding “which one’s best.”

“When I'm picking a school, I want to just see where I could develop most as a player, even if it's not like starting my first year or playing a lot my first year, let's say I could maybe even redshirt, second year play a little bit and develop,” he said.

“If I don't play early, develop and maybe have a chance to get to the NFL because I got developed. But playing early would be great. I just don't want to be buried in the depth chart and not play my whole time there.”

The Irish have been toward the top of LeJeune’s list since that April visit and remain there, although they do have some company.

“I'd say between them and Florida State right now at the top of my list.”
