The most interesting and speculated-upon quarterback competition at Notre Dame in recent history is now complete and Marcus Freeman’s decision has been made. 

Sophomore quarterback CJ Carr will be the Irish’s starting quarterback heading into the 2025 season, beating out junior Kenny Minchey.

We spoke to one source outside the program who is extremely well-versed with Carr’s abilities for their thoughts on what Notre Dame’s new QB1 will bring to the program.
