The last time Korz Loken‍ visited South Bend, he left with a scholarship offer from Notre Dame.

The 2027 Wisconsin tight end is hoping for another exciting visit when he returns in a couple weeks.

“I'm going up there September 13th for the game against Texas A&M,” Loken tells Irish Sports Daily.

The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder camped at Notre Dame back in June and impressed the staff enough to land the offer.

“This will be my first trip back after going to camp there,” he says. “I really wanted to get out to a game and I saw Texas A&M early in the year and I really wanted to get out to a game, so I just decided to set it early and I can always go back to another one.

“I really just want to see firsthand the culture of the program. I want to see how the players go out there and compete and how the coaches coach them up while they're out there. Hopefully see some tight end usage, some 12 and 13 personnel sets. Just stuff like that, that's kind of what I'm looking for.”

The Iola-Scandinavia High School standout has kept in contact with Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman, offensive coordinator/tight ends coach Mike Denbrock and assistant tight ends coach Harris Bivin since the summer.

“They've been reaching out a lot and really making me feel like I'm welcomed and part of the program,” he says. “They've been really inviting, trying to get me down there as many times as possible and grow our relationship.

“They're definitely very knowledgeable. Just in the little bit we've talked about football and the coaching that they've done on me so far, they're just incredibly knowledgeable. Even just with the little things, the little details, they know what's going on and they know how to craft players.”

Loken appreciates the continued interest from Notre Dame.

“It feels really good,” he says. “It feels really good to have these coaches at such a prestigious program showing so much interest and so much love.”

He also has offers from schools like Wisconsin, Iowa State, Indiana, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, Kentucky, Florida State, Mississippi State and Auburn among several others.

He has a handful of trips locked in for the fall, including a stop at Kansas State this past weekend,

“Like I said, I'll be at Notre Dame on the 13th, Wisconsin on the 20th, and Penn State on the 27th,” he says.

He doesn’t have an official date that he wants to cut his list by.

“I'll probably just narrow it as the season goes on by who's showing me interest and who's using their tight ends and stuff,” he says. “I really want to make a commitment early next year at the latest.”

He has a good feel for what he’s looking for in a college.

“What stands out to me is the culture of the program, how the coaches coach, how the players act. You want to be in a winning environment. Another thing would just be the personnels. If they have tight ends on the field a lot and they are allowing tight ends to make plays, that's really big for me. And then, yeah, how much interest they're showing and how welcoming they are into their program.”
