It’s tough to win when your offensive line isn’t winning. It’s extremely difficult to call plays when that’s the case as well.
This was the case too often against Miami and that’s the worst scenario possible for a brand new starting quarterback and an offense that was supposed to lean on their running game. An 18.9% havoc rate for Miami is a good indication of how Miami’s defense won the battle up front as is -0.17 EPA per dropback (19th percentile).
