Anyone ranking Notre Dame’s position groups before the season had running back as the undisputed number one. Defensive back was likely near the top as well along with linebacker and offensive line.
Based on expectations, the latter two positions might have had the most disappointing performances against Miami.
It just looked different at linebacker and it had nothing to do with no longer having Jack Kiser. They weren’t getting downhill in the run game.
