The idea was to elevate Notre Dame’s defense. Instead of a step up, their pass defense has fallen down an elevator shaft.

I don’t think it’s being too harsh to describe it that way because it is what it is. It used to be Notre Dame’s super power. It’s now become its kryptonite.

The average completion for Texas A&M was 21.2 yards. They didn’t allow the Aggies to have a single completion over 20 yards last season.
