Notre Dame football coach Marcus Freeman spoke for the final time before Saturday's game against Purdue. 

On WR Malachi Fields fitting into the program and the need to get him the ball:
“I think I might have said this before, but we really do a deep, thorough, I don't want to say investigation, but research on if the young person that we're going to take as a transfer fits our locker room. He's a guy that we had known about.
