Isaac Miller got another look at Notre Dame when he returned to South Bend for the Irish’s home opener against Texas A&M last weekend.
“It was quite fun actually,” the 2027 Wisconsin defensive end told Irish Sports Daily afterward.
“We got to watch them walk in the walk they do. We listened to Jerome Bettis, Tim Brown and Jaylon Smith. They shared insight on why they chose Notre Dame and why it was the fit for them.”
That part of the trip was certainly one that stuck out to the 6-foot-5, 250-pounder.
“It was good insight about why they went there and why they finished their degrees there,” Miller said. “The overall feel and place at Notre Dame, they said it was just the place because it's a good degree and you meet a lot of people that you'll know forever.
“It was interesting to hear from not normal students and hear it from the greats.”
After that panel, Miller and the other visiting recruits went over to Notre Dame Stadium to watch the game.
“I had fun watching them play,” the Catholic Memorial High School standout said. “It was probably the best game I've ever been to, even though the outcome wasn't ideal.”
The atmosphere inside the stadium definitely contributed to the environment.
“It was crazy,” said Miller. “Wow. They had eight student rows for the student section. Everyone was throwing around the towels, swinging them around. All the fans were super loud, caused a bunch of false starts for A&M.”
Miller has more than a dozen offers from schools like Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Northwestern, Iowa, Florida and Miami among others.
He’ll go to Wisconsin for a visit this weekend and will later head to Minnesota.
And he’ll be back at Notre Dame for the Irish’s game against USC next month.
The Irish are high on Miller’s list and on his mom’s.
“It was amazing to be there. My mom really liked it and she liked the aspect of having a prestigious school and prestigious degree and getting to be around people who want to do that with you. She said at these other schools, it's not really like that. It would be a lot more local people who just want to get done with college.”
