Allen Kennett camped at Notre Dame over the summer and returned for the Irish’s home opener against Texas A&M.
“It all went well,” the 2028 California linebacker told Irish Sports Daily.
“We went on the field, it was pretty good over there. The game was a lot of excitement, a lot of energy.”
The Servite High School star landed his offer from the Irish back in June and appreciated the chance to reconnect with linebackers coach Max Bullough while back on campus.
“We were talking about the game,” the 6-foot-1, 215-pounder said. “He was hyped for the game.
“Coach Bullough is a very high energy person.”
The trip actually began to take form during his initial visit to campus.
“When I came to the camp earlier in the year, we talked about it, talked about coming back out for a game,” Kennett explained. “This was the one we could make work.”
Bullough’s continued interest in Kennett is a major reason why Kennett continues to have interest in the Irish.
He was impressed with the environment inside Notre Dame Stadium for the game against the Aggies.
“It was good,” said Kennett. “It was high energy.”
Notre Dame was Kennett’s first offer and he’s since received others, including one from Colorado.
After a pair of trips, Notre Dame has his attention.
“I loved it,” he said. “It was great.”
He isn’t quite sure what comes next for him and the Irish.
“I don't know yet,” he said. “It's still early in my recruitment.”
He expects to return to South Bend for another visit, but doesn’t have any other trips planned at this point.
