This matchup between Notre Dame and Boise State was viewed differently before the season started. They were 27th in F+ (combined FEI and SP+ ranking) in 2024, made the College Football Playoff, and brought back the 13th most returning production from a team that finished 12-2 last season. They were supposed to be a top-20 team in the country.
