Elite 2028 CB Langston Pridgeon Enjoys First Notre Dame Visit
Notre Dame was able to get Langston Pridgeon on campus this past weekend and the Irish impressed the elite 2028 Virginia cornerback.
“It was good,” Pridgeon told Irish Sports Daily afterward.
The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder went through all of the pregame recruiting festivities, including a meeting with defensive backs coach Mike Mickens and assistant Jevaughn Codlin.
“They were telling me about how they liked my film,” Pridgeon said of Mickens and Codlin. “It was good, just introductions. It was my first time meeting them.
“They were just telling me how they really liked my film, especially my press coverage. They do a lot of that with their corners. They like to be very physical with their corners and they see me fitting into that system well. They were just saying how my press technique matches with their system a lot.”
The Stone Bridge High School star enjoyed watching the Irish’s 36-7 win over NC State and paid particularly close attention to Notre Dame cornerbacks Leonard Moore and Christian Gray.
“The corners are really good,” Pridgeon said. “I was watching #15 (Moore). He's one of the top-rated corners right now. I was watching him a lot. I was also watching #6 (Gray), and they were really locking down their sides of the field. They didn't get any real explosive play on the corners.
“That shows Coach Mickens does a really good job coaching the corners.”
He also enjoyed the environment inside Notre Dame Stadium.
“The atmosphere was really cool,” he said. “I got to feel the energy a lot. I sat right under the student section, so it was really cool to see all the chants and just the energy from the student section. It was cool.”
After the game, Pridgeon and the other recruits were able to go inside the locker room and hear Marcus Freeman address the team.
“That was a cool environment,” he said.
Pridgeon already has offers from schools like Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Maryland, Duke, Boston College, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Indiana and Wisconsin among several others.
Still, Notre Dame had his attention enough to make the trip to South Bend.
“I know about the rich history, all the great players that come through the program,” he said. “Also, they have really good academics, they're Top 20 and that's really important to me. The athletics coupled with the academics was really big for me.
“The next step in the process is getting back up campus to learn more about the program and environment and building better relationships with the coaches.”
Pridgeon isn’t sure when he may return to Notre Dame, but likely for a spring practice or the spring game in 2026.
He doesn’t have any other visits locked in at the moment, but was recently invited to go check out Clemson.
