After an impressive performance at Irish Invasion in June, Lukas Prock‍ was back in South Bend for Notre Dame’s game against rival USC this weekend.

“It was awesome,” Prock told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “I got there around 3 and checked in and stuff. Then, we kind of just sat around because of the rain delay and then we went over to the Stadium and watched the full game. We went into the locker room after the game, so yeah, it was awesome.”

The 2028 New Jersey quarterback was impressed with the atmosphere and the Irish’s performance during their 34-24 win over the Trojans.

“I thought it was very cool,” the Hun School standout said. “I thought the atmosphere was really cool and I really enjoyed it.

“Even though it was a rain game, they found a way to win. I liked how the coaches used what they had; for example, the running backs were obviously really good, so they put the ball in their hands and kind of just let them work.”

The 6-foot-3, 180-pounder likes what he’s seen from the Irish offense.

“I think it's very dynamic, especially when you have weapons all around the field, really great receivers and running backs,” he said. “And then obviously, CJ Carr is really good, so when you have a lot of weapons like that, it makes it a lot easier.”

Prock also enjoyed the chance to go into the Notre Dame locker room after the win.

“It was very cool,” he said. “Coach (Marcus) Freeman gave a little speech and then everyone gathered for a little prayer and then kind of just roamed around. I talked to Coach Gino (Guidugli) for a little bit, so that was really cool.”

Guidugli talked about his next steps for recruiting signal-callers in the 2028 class.

“He said that he's going to start diving into the film of ‘28 quarterbacks this week since they have a bye week,” Prock said of Guidugli. “He said he's going to give out a couple offers. He said, I'm near the top of the list, so I'm going to keep an eye out for that and get in touch this week.

“It feels awesome, especially knowing that it's coming from a place like Notre Dame. I feel like it'll immediately jump to the top of my list, just being that.”

Prock has early offers from schools like Ohio State, Rutgers, Syracuse, Boston College, Pitt, Cincinnati, Illinois and USF among others.

He has a few more visits in the coming weeks.

“I'm going to LSU next weekend and Vandy and Illinois in November,” he said.

But he plans on remaining in communication with the Irish.

“Even though they can't directly contact me yet, keeping in touch as much as I can and making it out in the spring and definitely back in the summer,” he said. “Just continuing to build a relationship with Coach Gino and the rest of the staff.”

Prock knows what he’s looking for in a college.

“Academics definitely play a huge role. Notre Dame is at the top of that category. And then relationships are huge for me, and just the dynamic of their offense and how they incorporate the quarterbacks.”
