Kaden Craft‍ made the trip up to Notre Dame for the Irish’s game against USC last weekend and the 2028 North Carolina quarterback left impressed.

“It went great,” the 6-foot-4, 200-pounder told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “It was an awesome experience. There were a bunch of famous people there, like Joe Montana, and there were three Hall of Famers. It was cool to talk to them.”

The environment for Notre Dame’s 34-24 win over the Trojans also stood out to the Lake Norman High School standout.

“It was a great atmosphere,” he said. “It started raining in the third quarter, but it was a really cool atmosphere.

“I thought they played pretty well offensively. It felt like they could do whatever they wanted and they had 300 rushing yards.”

Craft has several major offers already from schools like North Carolina, NC State, Duke, Auburn, Virginia Tech and Florida State. He thinks Notre Dame has a system he could see himself in.

“For sure,” said Craft. “They're a powerhouse program, so they do a great job of getting their players to the next level.”

After the game, he was able to speak with Irish quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli.

“We were talking about coming back up and the game and stuff like that,” said Craft, who added he could return for a visit in the spring or a camp in the summer.

He’s already made trips to Georgia, Penn State, Tennessee, Florida State and North Carolina this season with a stop at South Carolina coming up next.

The Irish certainly impressed him with what they could provide.

“They're a powerhouse football team,” he said. “It's a great school overall; great education, and you get to meet a bunch of good people there and make long-term relationships.”

He’s already identified a couple key factors in his ultimate decision.

“Definitely somewhere where I can get developed and go to the next level and a place where I can live without football for four years.”
