Playing fast is associated with playing good defense. It happens when players not only know their assignments, but when they understand what they are seeing from an offense.

Confusion causes hesitation. Hesitation can cause missed assignments. Missed assignments lead to successful plays for the offense. (Darkness leads to the dark side, you get it)

Notre Dame had a lot of success running the football against USC. It’s not a surprise because of their incomparable backfield duo.
