As difficult as it had to have been to move on from Ken Niumatalolo, Navy made a great decision by promoting Brian Newberry as Niumatalolo’s replacement. He led the Midshipmen to a 10-3 record last season and they had won 10 straight games before a loss last week against North Texas.

He’s now 22-11 in his third season as the head coach. They rode their offense to a 7-1 start this season, but just like last season, they had the benefit of playing an extremely easy schedule.
