Notre Dame announced on Wednesday afternoon that it has set a home-and-home series with Auburn.
The series will open on September 25, 2027, at Notre Dame Stadium and then the Irish will travel to Auburn on October 28, 2028.
SEC competition is no stranger to Notre Dame as the Irish have done home-and-home series with Arkansas, Georgia and Texas A&M. In the future, Notre Dame will also play Alabama, Florida and Texas in addition to Auburn.
As of now, the 2027 Notre Dame schedule looks like this:
| DATE | OPPONENT |
| 9.4 | Purdue |
| 9.18 | at Michigan State |
| 9.25 | Auburn |
| 10.2 | Georgia Tech |
| 10.9 | Wake Forest |
| 11.6 | Virginia |
| 11.13 | Clemson |
| 11.20 | Navy |
The 2028 schedule appears daunting at the moment, with road games at Auburn, Pitt, Purdue, and Virginia Tech, as well as a neutral-site game against Navy. The home slate includes Arkansas, Boston College, Clemson, Miami and Texas.
Notre Dame's rivalry game with USC still lingers as both schools work to extend the series, but it’s starting to feel like that game could take on a neutral-site feel in the future.
Auburn and Notre Dame have never met and 2028 will mark just the third trip to the state of Alabama for the Fighitng Irish. The Tigers have never played in the state of Indiana.
Notre Dame is 51-27-0 0 all-time against SEC programs.
