The latest set of CFP rankings have arrived, and following a 49-10 win over Navy last Saturday, Notre Dame comes in at No. 9. The Irish have moved up one position after last week's initial rankings.
Oregon comes in at No. 8, meaning if the playoffs were to happen today, the Irish would be traveling to Eugene for a first round matchup.
Notre Dame has a little more wiggle room this week compared to last week with BYU losing to Texas Tech. BYU now sits outside the cut line.
Other teams of note is No. 15 Miami, who has the head-to-head win over Notre Dame. If in a couple weeks it came down to Miami and the Irish, it will have to be questioned how much that Week 1 loss hurts them.
The Irish will have a good chance to improve their rankings this weekend when they travel to take on No. 22 Pitt on Saturday. A road win against a ranked opponent could be enough to give the Irish a first round home playoff game.
