For a team that had brought back a combined 186 starts from last season, a 2-2 record out of the gate wasn’t what they expected. Pitt lost one score games to West Virginia and Louisville while looking like a team that would be bowl-eligible, but not much more than that.

Pat Narduzzi made the bold move to go with a true freshman quarterback at that point and they’ve been rolling ever since.
