Sebastian Blue‍ made the trip up to Notre Dame for the Irish’s game against Navy this past weekend and the visit was unlike anything the 2027 Kentucky defensive tackle had experienced before.

“It's a lot different than everywhere else I've been,” said Blue. “It seems more like everything's built around a brotherhood, everything's brand new. It's super nice. It definitely stands out against anywhere else I've been in the country.

“We were listening to the General Manager and a former player. They were just explaining how everything ties back to it; everything in the locker room, every building, every class, everything together is tied back to that.”

The Trinity High School standout had the chance to get a look at all of the athletic facilities before the game.

“Everything was good,” he said. “We saw the facility and the indoor student area, the lounge inside the stadium. Mostly everything important to the football team. It was really good.

Blue called the atmosphere for the game “unreal.”

“We walked into the Player Walk and it was packed,” he said. “There were people everywhere. That was definitely different than anywhere else I've been. And we walked in the same, it was like 100 minutes until kickoff and it was packed out. The stadium was bumping.

The 6-foot-3, 260-pounder was also impressed with the Irish’s performance during their 49-10 win over the Midshipmen.

“Notre Dame definitely has an explosive offense and defense,” he said. “And they look like they're ready to play, fired up all the time. It was a great experience.”

Blue said he paid close attention to the Irish’s defensive front.

“It definitely fits my scheme of play,” he said. “I got a chance to talk to the assistant d-line coach before the game and he was just explaining how it operated.”

Blue enjoyed his conversation with Notre Dame assistant defensive line coach Nick Sebastian.

“He was cool,” said Blue. “It was the first time I've met him, so we were just getting to know each other. He was just explaining to me different guys on the team and how they played and how much they develop from high school to college when they get there because it's their first time lifting and eating the way a college football player does at the Power-4 level.”

Blue has already been to Kentucky, Louisville, FAU, FIU and Eastern Kentucky. He’ll be back at Louisville for the Cardinals’ game against Kentucky in a few weeks.

He is already “looking forward to getting back,” to South Bend, possibly during the spring.

“I'm probably going to keep building this relationship with the coaches and definitely keep working in the weight room and hopefully seeing what the future holds there because that's definitely a place I could see myself playing at.”
