Jaden Irons‍ made his way to South Bend for his first Notre Dame game earlier this month and the 2028 Florida cornerback was impressed.

“The visit went very good,” Irons told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “I’m very happy with how they treated us. The recruiters are very good. It was a great experience.

“I got to see the Irish play. I got to walk around a little bit, see them warm up. It was very fun seeing them warm up.”

The St. Cloud High School standout learned more about the Irish program.

“I learned Notre Dame plays a good and high level of football,” he said. “Everybody who is out there is 100 percent out there for a reason and everybody is competing no matter who is on the other side of the ball.”

The 5-foot-9, 150-pounder was impressed with the atmosphere inside Notre Dame Stadium.

“The atmosphere is one of the best things about Notre Dame,” he said. “The student section shows so much love to the players, everybody cares for the sport of football over there.

“That’s just amazing. It makes playing so much better.”

And he was impressed with the Irish’s performance during their 49-10 win over the Midshipmen.

“Notre Dame played well,” he said. “You couldn’t ask them to play any better. They did their job and came out with the win.

“The DBs are just as I expected; very polished. Shout out to the coaches. They know what they are doing over there.”

Irons has an impressive early offer sheet that includes Georgia, Kentucky, Duke and Wake Forest among several others.

He was able to speak with some of the staff members while in South Bend.

“I did talk to some coaches and they’re all amazing,” he said.

“They were just telling me more about my position and the school itself. It’s an amazing opportunity.”

It’s early, but at this point in the process, Irons says the ball is in the Irish’s court with regard to his recruitment.

“What’s next for me and Notre Dame is for Notre Dame to decide,” he said.

“I’m definitely interested.”
