For the third consecutive week, Notre Dame comes in at No. 9 in the latest set of CFP rankings. The Irish are coming off a 70-7 blowout win over Syracuse in South Bend on Saturday.

If the playoffs were to start today, Notre Dame would be traveling to take on No.8 Oklahoma in the First Round, and would more than likely set up a second round matchup with No. 1 Ohio State.

The Irish won’t have that great of a chance to move up no matter the margin of victory against Stanford on Saturday night.

There will be a couple matchups to watch out for which could shake up in rankings in Ohio State vs. Michigan, Miami vs. Pitt, Alabama vs. Auburn, Texas vs. Texas A&M, Ole Miss vs. Miss. St. and LSU vs Oklahoma.

The best chance Notre Dame will have to move up the rankings and host a playoff game would be losses by Oklahoma, Oregon or Ole Miss.
