A bunch of fans of other CFP hopefuls went to bed wishing for one thing: a lemon from Notre Dame. Too bad for those fans because the Irish came out with an emphatic statement against Stanford.

They scored touchdowns on their first four drives and essentially ended the game before halftime.

Stanford was 4-1 at home and had just come off a big win over Cal. They just hired their new coach and were thinking they could hang in this game at least for a short period of time.
