For Grant Adloff, the 2027 Michigan offensive lineman’s trip to South Bend for Notre Dame’s home finale a couple weeks back was a success.
“It was fun,” Adloff said. “I got to see the game and got to meet the o-line coach.”
The 6-foot-4, 260-pounder was impressed with the Irish’s 70-7 win over Syracuse.
“It was a great game,” he said. “Kind of crazy to see all the defensive touchdowns.”
He paid particularly close attention to Notre Dame’s offensive line.
“They played pretty solid,” he said. “They've got some big guys up in the interior.”
He didn’t get the chance to reconnect with Irish offensive line coach Joe Rudolph after the game, but did meet him and make introductions beforehand.
“He trusts in his guys,” Adloff said of Rudolph.
“He seems like a very kind, very down to earth, very genuine, trying to see who I was.”
The atmosphere inside Notre Dame Stadium also struck Adloff.
“It was awesome,” he said. “Packed, very loud, everyone was super supportive.”
Adloff said the visit came about because of mutual interest.
“Really, they kind of wanted to check me out and I mean, it's Notre Dame, they're ranked right now. It's just a really cool team,” he said.
Adloff has early offers from West Virginia, Toledo, Western Michigan and Youngstown State. He was honored to hear the Irish were interested in him.
“Pretty special to be honest,” he said.
He doesn’t have any other visits planned at the moment, but does want to stay in touch with Notre Dame.
“Just build relationships,” he said.
He’s been to several other schools as well.
“I've been to Indiana, Iowa, Michigan. Michigan State, Toledo, Western Michigan, Central Michigan, West Virginia and Notre Dame now.”
