Notre Dame RB Gi'Bran Payne Announces Intentions to Enter Transfer Portal
Notre Dame running back Gi'Bran Payne has announced his intentions to enter the Transfer Portal when it opens on January 2nd.
The 5-foot-10, 205-pounder missed the 2024 season after tearing his ACL in the spring and returned to action this fall. Payne played in all 12 games for the Irish in 2025 and carried the ball nine times for 56 yards.
In 2023, Payne ran for 168 yards and two touchdowns as he played the role of a short-yardage and third-down back.
He finishes his career at Notre Dame with 56 carries for 226 yards and two scores, while adding nine catches for 58 yards and two scores.
Payne originally signed with Indiana out of high school, but got out of his letter of intent and signed with the Irish in April of 2022 when Deland McCullough was named running backs coach at Notre Dame.
