Notre Dame and USC ended their longtime rivalry for the foreseeable future earlier this week, and while it’s disappointing, it’s hardly shocking to anyone who’s followed the behind-the-scenes attempts to keep the series alive.
College football loses. Fans lose. Alumni from both schools lose. Seeing those colors at Notre Dame Stadium or the Coliseum always felt right, and losing that visual alone is a shame.
A neutral-site game could have been interesting.
