Tyler Fryman‍ feels the pace of recruiting beginning to change as the focus turns toward the 2027 class, a shift the Louisville, Ky., native is approaching deliberately.

“Definitely a blessing,” the 2027 receiver said. “But obviously people are going to start committing, so I need to start narrowing down decisions, start making decisions, talking with my family.

“With baseball about to start here soon, see how that goes and just talk to my parents, especially in the summer, and hopefully make a decision then.”

The Trinity High School standout has remained active on the recruiting trail while maintaining his commitment to Louisville for baseball, a dynamic that has shaped his football recruitment.

“I’ve been reaching out to a few different schools and they’ve been communicating with me,” Fryman said.

“Obviously, I’m verbally committed to Louisville for baseball, so I have a really close relationship with those coaches. But yeah, I’ve been talking to a lot of different football coaches.”

Notre Dame is one of the programs he continues to stay in contact with.

“I talked to (wide receivers coach Mike) Brown the other day,” Fryman said.

Communication will be key as he evaluates what comes next with the Irish.

“I’d say definitely staying in touch with them,” he said. “Communication’s the biggest thing. Just keep communicating with them.”

Fryman made multiple trips to South Bend this year and a return is something he hopes to make work despite a busy schedule.

“Definitely get back with them,” he said. “Hopefully do an official visit there. That’d be really nice.”

The appeal of Notre Dame to Fryman goes beyond football.

“The guys that have come out of there and also the academics there,” Fryman said of what about Notre Dame has his interest.

“That’s a big thing. What makes you a better person and helps you be the best person you can be.”

Fryman has other schools in mind for visits in the coming year as well.

“I’m going to try to get out to Arizona State, hopefully. I’m headed to Louisville in January sometime, and I’ll start reaching out to coaches and trying to figure things out.”
