Al Washington is sliding over to coach linebackers to replace Max Bullough after Washington did a very good job coaching the Notre Dame defensive line the last four years.

He previously coached linebackers at Michigan (2019) and Ohio State (2019-2021). At Michigan he helped develop future first round draft pick Devin Bush, 2nd team All-Big Ten LB Khaleke Hudson, and hybrid edge Josh Uche.
