Notre Dame will host Iowa State undergraduate transfer Jontez Williams for a visit next week, according to his mother on Twitter.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pounder was part of the 2022 recruiting class and held offers from Iowa State and Tennessee Tech.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pound defensive back was part of the 2022 recruiting class and originally chose Iowa State over Tennessee Tech. A Florida native, Williams emerged as one of the Cyclones’ most productive defensive backs before a season-ending knee injury in late September.

In 2025, Williams appeared in five games, recording 15 tackles and one interception. His breakout season came as a redshirt sophomore, when he totaled 46 tackles, five passes defended, and four interceptions with each pick coming in consecutive games against Houston, Baylor, West Virginia, and UCF.

Williams earned Second-Team All-Big 12 honors from the league’s coaches in 2024 and was named Academic All-Big 12 First Team in 2023.

For his career at Iowa State, Williams recorded 67 tackles, 10 passes defended, and five interceptions.

Williams is listed as the No.1 cornerback and the No. 31 overall player in the Transfer Portal per 247 Sports. ON3 lists Williams as the No. 1 cornerback and the No. 15 overall player in the portal.

He’ll be on campus January 5th-7th.
