Hello, Charlie Partridge.
Notre Dame’s new defensive line coach has landed Francis Brewu...again.
The 6-foot-2, 280-pounder committed to Partridge and Pitt coming out of high school and now has given his pledge to Notre Dame. Brewu will have two years of eligibility remaining.
In 2025, Brewu was named Honorable Mention All-ACC after tallying 35 tackles, one sack, 6.0 tackles for loss and one forced fumble.
Brewu was the fourth-highest rated defender (over 100 snaps) on Pitt’s defense last fall with a grade of 78.4. He was responsible for 20 quarterback pressures
As a freshman in 2024, the Westerville (Ohio) native played in 12 games, including starting the GameAbove Sports Bowl. Brewu recorded 15 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks, which led to him being named a PFF Freshman All-American.
Brewu will immediately step in and help the Notre Dame interior defensive line, which has suffered natural hits to graduation and the unexpected retirement of captain Donovan Hinish.
Notre Dame beat out Indiana, Ohio State and Tennessee.
