One of Notre Dame’s biggest needs in the Transfer Portal was at boundary receiver.
Marcus Freeman and the Irish filled that void with a signature from former Ohio State receiver Quincy Porter, who will have four years of eligibility remaining. (Note: Ohio State lists him playing in four games and also appearing in five games on another section of its official site)
The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder was on and off the injury report as a freshman in 2025, but Porter did record four receptions for 59 yards.
Porter did not play following Ohio State’s win over UCLA on November 15 and was listed as out for the Cotton Bowl last month. ISD sources believe Porter could need (or has had) knee surgery that could impact his availability this spring.
As a senior at Bergen Catholic (N.J.), Porter recorded 57 receptions for 969 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Porter finished his recruitment as a composite five-star and the No. 32 overall prospect in the country per 247 Sports.
The Notre Dame boundary position will get more depth as Micah Gilbert and Cam Williams return. Notre Dame early enrollee Kaydon Finley could start his career at boundary.
