Notre Dame continued to add to its cornerback depth with proven players.
The latest to join Marcus Freeman’s program is former Michigan cornerback Jayden Sanders.
Sanders will have three years of eligibility remaining after having a very solid season as a true freshman in Ann Arbor.
The 6-foot-1, 193-pounder recorded 23 tackles and had one pass breakup on the year. Sanders played 303 snaps in 2025 and he finished with a very respectable 74.1 PFF grade.
Sanders attended Kilgore High School (Texas) and also played basketball and track. Coming out of high school, Sanders was the No. 116 overall player in the nation and the No. 15 cornerback per 247 Sports.
His father, Nick, was a first-team All-Mountain West defensive back for TCU.
Sanders' addition makes Notre Dame have more experienced depth on the back end. The last two seasons, Leonard Moore and Christian Gray played an extreme amount of snaps, so adding depth benefits them, especially with the combined addition of DJ McKinney.
Could he also help with the nickel position? Potentially. Sanders played 11 snaps at nickel for the Wolverines in 2025, while field corner was his main position with 273 plays logged.
