Notre Dame Basketball: Kebba Njie Out for Season, Ending College Career
Notre Dame basketball lost a piece of its bench on Monday, as senior Kebba Njie will miss the remainder of the season due to a knee injury, marking the end of his collegiate career.
The 6-foot-10, 255-pound forward was part of Micah Shrewsberry’s first recruiting class at Notre Dame, transferring from Penn State ahead of the 2023 season. Njie spent three seasons in South Bend and was consistently on the floor during his first two seasons in the blue and gold.
Njie’s role decreased during the 2025–26 season following the arrival of graduate transfer Carson Towt, who took over the starting center spot. After averaging just over 23 minutes per game as a junior, Njie saw his playing time drop to 11.5 minutes per game this season, appearing in 17 contests.
In 2025-26, Njie saw his playing time decrease with the Irish as graduate transfer Carson Towt took his place in the starting lineup. Njie averaged just over 23 minutes of action as a junior, but played just 11.5 minutes per game this season in 17 games.
Njie announced the news on social media.
