Notre Dame Roster Review | Defensive Tackle

Notre Dame was going to lose Gabriel Rubio and Jared Dawson after last season. The defensive tackle position was dealt another blow when Donovan Hinish was forced to retire due to injury.

That left only Elijah Hughes as the only rotation player at the position who was set to return in 2026. They entered January with Jason Onye needing an eligibility waiver to come back and it was not a guarantee that he’d get it.

What a difference a month makes.
