Notre Dame defensive coordinator Chris Ash spoke following the first practice of the spring. 

On the first day of spring ball: 
“Yeah, I get excited about the first day every year because there's new players, it's a new year, it's a new group, and just excited to watch these guys come together and go out there and play together. I love the energy and the competitive spirit on day one that these guys have.
