Brady Quinn‍ walked into Notre Dame with a clear understanding of what the program represents and left with a sense that he could be part of it.

The 2028 Florida quarterback shares a name with the former Irish star and although there’s no family connection, the meaning behind it runs deep as his father is a lifelong Notre Dame fan.

The Chaminade-Madonna High School standout made his way to South Bend last weekend, getting an in-depth look at the program as the Irish continue evaluating him as a potential future signal-caller.

“It went really great,” Quinn told Irish Sports Daily. “We had a really good time. Everything was really good.”

Quinn holds offers from Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, Purdue, South Carolina, Syracuse and UCF among others. He does not yet hold an offer from Notre Dame, but the mutual interest is building as the staff continues its evaluation process.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder spent time in meetings, on the practice field and inside Gino Guidugli’s quarterback room, giving him a full view of how the offense operates.

“We sat in a team meeting first and then I was in the quarterback meeting with Coach Guidugli,” Quinn said. “We watched practice and then went back over everything.”

Practice itself stood out, particularly the tempo and efficiency.

“It was quick, but it looked good,” Quinn said. “They got a lot done.”

He also got an up-close look at the quarterbacks in the program, especially CJ Carr.

“CJ is really, really good,” Quinn said. “He’s going to have a really good year this year, I think.”

Following practice, Quinn met with multiple members of the staff, including head coach Marcus Freeman, offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock and Guidugli, gaining a clearer picture of how Notre Dame views him moving forward.

“He was telling me that Notre Dame is a place for a certain type of person,” Quinn said of Freeman. “They’re going to develop me on the field and off the field with the connections and the degree you can get there.”

That message resonated.

“It’s a great opportunity,” Quinn said. “Not just because of my name, not because of the Brady Quinn stuff, but because of the history they have developing quarterbacks and developing people into great men.”

He also came away encouraged by how he fits within Denbrock’s system.

“I think they run a great offense,” Quinn said. “I like how they use the quarterback and I can definitely see myself playing in it.”

Guidugli also laid out the next step in the process.

“He said he’s going to come see me in the spring and watch me throw,” Quinn said. “And then, after that, he’s going to offer some people.

“He told me I’m really high on the board and I have a really good chance to get an offer.”

That feedback only added to the momentum coming out of the visit.

“It feels really good,” Quinn said. “I feel like once coaches see me throw in person, my recruitment is going to take off.”

The Hollywood, Fla., native has already made several stops this spring, including visits to Florida, Clemson, Indiana and Purdue, with trips to SMU, Miami and Alabama coming up.

As he works through the next phase of his recruitment, Quinn plans to let the process play out through the spring before narrowing his focus.

“After spring, I’m going to evaluate what I have and who I like,” Quinn said. “Then take some summer visits and maybe commit in late June or early July.”

For now, Notre Dame has positioned itself firmly among the contenders.

“Notre Dame is definitely one of the top schools in my recruitment. It’s a great program, they win games and off the field you can get one of the best degrees in the country with a lot of opportunities after football.”
