Notre Dame has landed its second Transfer Portal addition as Penn graduate transfer guard Ethan Roberts committed to the Fighting Irish on Thursday.
Roberts has been one of the Ivy League’s most consistent scorers over the past two seasons, leading Penn in scoring both years. He earned All-Ivy League honors in 2025-26 after averaging 16.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.
The Arlington Heights (Ill.) native delivered multiple explosive performances last season, including two 30-point outings and eight games with 20 or more points. He shot 40.1 percent from the field and an impressive 40.4 percent from three-point range, adding a proven scoring punch to Notre Dame’s backcourt.
This isn’t the first time Notre Dame has pursued Roberts. Former assistant Anthony Solomon recruited the 6-foot-5 guard out of the Transfer Portal following Mike Brey’s final season in South Bend.
At that point, Roberts was coming off a strong freshman campaign at Army, where he averaged 12.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
Now, Roberts arrives in South Bend expected to step into a key role in Micah Shrewsberry’s rotation. He projects as a scoring complement opposite Braeden Shrewsberry and could help fill the void left by Cole Certa.
Roberts joins Big South Player of the Year Logan Duncomb as part of Notre Dame’s growing Transfer Portal class, giving the Fighting Irish added firepower and experience as they continue to reshape the roster.
