It’s interesting to watch how programs are constructing rosters in the NIL era. Some schools have adopted more of an NFL-style model, prioritizing premium positions, while others spend more aggressively at skill spots to fit their schemes or compensate for misses elsewhere on the roster.

From the outside looking in, Notre Dame has largely embraced the NFL approach. Mike Martin and Marcus Freeman have placed a clear emphasis on quarterback, the trenches and the secondary.
