2028 Immaculate Conception (Ill.) tight end Grant Bowen‍ is no stranger to Notre Dame.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pounder knows what the Irish can offer him on and off the field, but on Friday, Bowen got a new look at the program when he attended Irish Invasion.

Bowen spent a couple hours working under offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock and tight ends coach Harris Bivin, which gave him a genuine feel for what life in South Bend could look like.

“It was great,” Bowen told ISD. “He had a lot of tips for me. A lot of little simple tricks to make a great advantage, like blocking and stuff like that.”

The four-star prospect found the session very valuable to his recruitment, as it was another box he could check as it relates to Notre Dame.

“It's great because seeing how he coaches is also a great thing,” stated Bowen. “I could be eventually coached by him one day.”

Notre Dame also held a Grill and Chill event before camp, which Bowen attended. The time allowed him to get to know other recruits, but it also gave him a chance to see how he fit in with Notre Dame players and recruits.

“I loved the competition at the camp,” explained Bowen. “The grill and chill was also amazing. It was good to get to know them on a personal level. It was good to be with guys I could be in the locker room with me or play with on fourth down, so it was good to know I can compete with them.”

Irish Invasion won’t be Bowen’s last camp of the summer, but the Illinois native doesn’t have a crazy June schedule like some 2028 prospects.

“I have an Iowa camp, Ohio State camp and I'm visiting Illinois,” Bowen stated. “I'm staying mainly in the Midwest because I have a lot of workouts with my school and I have to work.”

It’s very clear Notre Dame is extremely high on Bowen’s list entering the summer, but he plans to take his time with his recruitment to make the right decision for his future.

“I'm trying to talk to my agent more about later in the summer,” said Bowen. “I'll probably have a top 10, top 5 possibly in late December and then commit around this time next year.”
