Cale Britt's June camp tour brought him to South Bend this weekend. It may have reshaped his recruitment.

The 2028 Florida linebacker picked up a Notre Dame offer following his performance at Irish Invasion.

The Bishop Moore standout came in with offers from schools like Florida, Florida State, Miami, Nebraska, Wisconsin, UCLA, Missouri and Virginia Tech among others already, but the Irish offer certainly grabbed his attention.

"They pulled me aside after the camp," Britt told Irish Sports Daily. "They said they saw my film, they love everything about it and they just wanted to let me know I had an offer."

The offer meant a lot to Britt.

"It's just one of those things where they have such a good legacy," he said. "They also have a great graduation rate. It's one of those teams that has always had a successful winning streak and will always compete for the national championship.

“It's always been a great football team and it's one of those things where it's hard to pass up."

The visit wasn't over after the offer either.

Britt will return to campus Saturday for additional time with the staff.

"He said we're going to come back over and get a little tour of the facility," Britt said. "Then we're going to go over some film and talk some football."

The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder believes he demonstrated several of the traits during the camp that helped him earn the offer.

"I definitely showed my sideline-to-sideline ability, my quick twitch, my fast feet and my eye discipline for sure,” he said.

Linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary made a strong impression.

"He was awesome," Britt said. "He was really cool. He’s able to connect with the players at a personal level and made sure he knew everyone's name."

Beyond building relationships, Britt appreciated Jean-Mary's teaching style.

"He's a great coach coaching-wise," Britt explained. "He coaches each player, not every player the same way. He coaches them how they learn best."

Britt is now eyeing a return back to South Bend this Fall.

"I think the next step is coming for a game, seeing what the game atmosphere is like in person at night and then going from there,” he said.

Britt isn't slowing down anytime soon, though.

He'll continue a busy summer schedule with stops at Arizona State, Arizona, UCLA, Alabama, Penn State and Virginia Tech.

A decision isn't expected immediately, but the Florida standout does have a relatively accelerated timeline for a 2028 target.

"We're hoping to probably commit to a school sometime between November and the end of December.”
