Notre Dame Makes Strong Impression on Four-Star Safety CJ Craig-James
Notre Dame hosted several of the top prospects in the country last weekend and 2028 Parker (Ala.) safety CJ Craig-James might have been the headliner.
The four-star prospect holds over 40 offers and made it a point to establish himself as an Alpha during Irish Invasion.
“I loved it,” Craig-James said of the camp. “Amazing. Great competition. Some of the best tight ends in the world. Going up against them and getting the best of them.”
The visit gave Craig-James more than just an opportunity to compete. He also got an in-depth look at Notre Dame through the Grill and Chill event prior to camp.
“It was cool,” stated Craig-James. “Very old school, but it was cool being up here.”
One of the highlights for Craig-James was the opportunity to get coached and chop it up with Notre Dame safeties coach Jevaughn Codlin.
The two have been building a strong relationship over the last few months, following Codlin's visit to his school in the spring.
“He’s a young dude, so he’s cool,” explained Craig-James. “He’s like me. I like young people.”
Craig-James has already taken a swing through Texas and he has a few more big visits lined up.
“I’m going to Miami,” Craig-James stated. “And then I’ll be going to LSU and Ohio State.”
Even after just one visit to South Bend, Notre Dame has positioned itself firmly among the contenders in his recruitment and Craig-James expects to return in the fall.
“Top 10, for sure,” said Craig-James. “Got to come back.”
