Notre Dame has added another experienced arm to its 2027 roster as UCLA graduate transfer Jack O’Connor has committed to the Fighting Irish.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder appeared in 47 games over the last two seasons for the Bruins, a program that spent most of 2026 ranked No. 1 in the nation.

In 2026, O’Connor pitched in 15.1 innings across 20 appearances. He finished the year with a 3.52 ERA and eight strikeouts while going 1-0. O’ Connor also held opponents scoreless in 14 of his 20 outings.

O’Connor was impressive in 2025, finishing 3-0 (27 appearances) with a 1.67 ERA over 27.0 innings. The ERA was the lowest on the Bruins roster with at least 20 innings pitched. O’Connor also pitched five innings of scoreless baseball in six postseason outings.

For his career, O’Connor has solid marks with a perfect 4-0 record, 2.34 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 41.2 innings pitched.

Notre Dame immediately gets an experienced arm and one who has pitched in big moments.

O’Connor attended Palos Verdes High School (Calif.) and was a two-time Preseason Underclass All-American and finished his prep career with a 2.44 ERA.

He’s expected to pursue a master’s in Business Analytics.
