Kellen Miller‍ had been waiting a long time for this one.

After multiple trips to Notre Dame and a previous plan to camp in South Bend that was derailed by an injury, the 2028 Michigan receiver finally earned an offer from the Irish on Tuesday.

The news came directly from Notre Dame wide receivers coach Mike Brown following a camp.

"Coach Brown told me to hang back for a little bit and then he gave me the good news after the camp,” Miller told Irish Sports Daily.

Brown made it clear why he felt comfortable pulling the trigger on the 6-foot-1, 195-pounder.

"He said that I had some great film, he liked my size and that I'm very versatile for being this big and they like what they saw," Miller explained.

"They just wanted to check the last box of seeing me in person. Then he said once they got that, they were all set."

The offer carried extra significance for Miller because of both his familiarity with the program and his family's connection to the area.

"I was very happy," Miller said. "Notre Dame has always been a good school and I've always liked the school. So when I got the news, I was pretty happy."

The Cass Tech standout already had a strong appreciation for what the University offers.

"My grandpa's from South Bend," Miller said. "So he's always been a Notre Dame fan.

"They also have good academics. You never can go wrong with that. And then, the football program's just amazing."

As for his camp performance, Miller believes he demonstrated exactly why Notre Dame views him as one of the top receivers in the 2028 class.

"Honestly, I think I just showed them how I can get loose on any type of route," Miller said. "I can run fast, catch. I just tried to show them all my abilities."

With the offer now in hand, the focus shifts toward establishing bonds with the Irish staff.

"I think it's just trying to continue building that relationship," Miller said. "Now they can text me and they can text 2028s."

The Michigan native also expects to make his way back to South Bend soon.

"I think continuing to build that relationship with Coach Brown and definitely coming back down there for a game."
