It’s never easy for a coach to follow a legend, but Brian Newberry has almost made it look that way. He was promoted from defensive coordinator when Ken Niumatalolo was let go at Navy and managed to accomplish something that even Niumatalolo never did.

Navy had back to back double digit win seasons for the first time in the history of the program. They’re 21-5 over that time and went 11-2 last year.
